There are several examples of success. Many of them are people you know, people who live in your locality, people you work with, people you eat with on the same table, people you meet at the bus stop, etc. Successful people are all over the places and they are quite close to us.  Success is subjective in a sense. Some of our professors and academic professionals are academically successful, they though may not be financially successful. There are people close to you who have succeeded in one thing or the other. So you may not need to look too far before you find a relevant role model.
